Is a waxed floor slippery?

Author: Mock Webware |

A properly waxed floor can have a glossy finish, and it can be more slippery than an un-waxed floor, especially when it's wet. The amount of slip resistance of a waxed floor can depend on the type of wax used, the surface of the flooring, and the level of foot traffic.
It's important to note that not all waxes are created equal, some types of waxes are designed to provide a higher level of slip resistance, and some are not. For example, a floor wax that contains a high level of silicone will be more slippery than a wax that contains a high level of carnauba wax.
Also, the surface of the flooring plays a role in the slip resistance of a waxed floor. For example, a smooth surface like marble or granite will be more slippery than a textured surface like terrazzo or concrete.
